Fears: Then and Now

April 2010

The criteria for this 58-page hand made book required us to choose a theme of “opposites/antithesis.” I chose to focus my theme on the idea of Fears: Then and Now. My book explores the fears that people have had in the past and still may haunt us in the present. It also focuses on what influences peoples fears and why they persist over time. I was very interested in tapping into this subject, which is so rarely shared between people. The content of this book was taken from a survey which asked individuals to share their fears anonymously. To quote an anonymous individual, “Everyone everywhere has fears in common with someone else.” This book allows us to see the truth in that statement. We are not alone.
